Nominations for this year’s Livingroom Customer Service Awards in Guernsey are now open.
Organised in association with the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, the awards celebrate excellence, best practice and innovation in customer service. Their aim is to highlight the contribution great customer service can make to a business’ success – something of particular importance in today’s highly competitive commercial environment.
The general public is now able to nominate individuals or teams in Guernsey who have gone beyond the call of duty in offering excellent customer service. Previous winners represent a wide spectrum of the island’s business community both in terms of size and sector.
Last year’s successes included Le Mont Saint Garage, winner of the Best Team Award as well as Perelle Bakery, Waitrose and Michelle Arundale of Berries Bakery. Award categories are designed to be inclusive of all of Guernsey’s business community.
Awards founder Julie Todd, is encouraging everyone to get involved:
‘We have all experienced good and bad service in Guernsey. Social media makes it easier than ever for us to complain when things go wrong. The awards give the Guernsey public the opportunity to redress the balance and recognise and reward those who do a fabulous job. It is free to nominate a team or individual, and you could really make someone’s day by doing so.
‘Last year we introduced the Aspiring Star award, which is specifically targeted at young people new to the customer service environment. They may just be a part-time ‘Saturday worker’ but are already standing out from the crowd. We had some inspiring nominations and we hope that we will see even more this year. After all they are the future champions of customer service.’

Awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 3 July, in Market Square, compered by Island FM. This is a public event and all are welcome.
