This year’s Jersey Post Customer Service Awards winners are announced
At this year’s awards ceremony, which took place at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on Thursday 6 November, the winner in each award category was announced, with the top award – Jersey Post Customer Service Overall Winner – going to Lesley Thompson from Café 1837 at Voisins department store.
The awards event, which was hosted by Channel 103’s Jenny Mullin, attracted over 250 people eager to see who the winners would be.
The 12 category winners were selected by a judging panel, following a six-week voting period during which the members of the general public nominated individuals of teams they felt deserved to be recognised for outstanding standards in customer service delivery. Nominations totalled over 7,000, which is a record since the event began four years ago. Lesley, who won the Parish of St Helier Hospitality Award, was then selected as overall winner from the 12.
She was delighted with her achievement:
I really can’t believe it. The whole team is ecstatic. To know that our customers have voted for us and to be recognised in this way is beyond belief is just amazing and I would like to say a huge thank you for all our lovely customers who took the time to vote.
James Filleul, president of Jersey’s Chamber of Commerce, commented:
For any business, attracting – and then retaining – customers is vital. Having your customers nominate you for an award is something to which every business in Jersey should aspire. All the winners have shown they excel at what they do. Lesley is a worthy winner – I am delighted for her and the Café 1837 team.
Julie Todd, founder of the awards, said:
The Jersey Post Customer Service Awards showcase the customer service excellence that exists in Jersey and we are looking forward to growing the event further in years to come.
