Local Guernsey businesses are now invited to submit entries for one or several of the four corporate categories in this year’s awards.
Now in their second year, the corporate categories attracted submissions from a wide range of diverse business sectors in 2012. The awards give companies the opportunity to showcase successful customer service strategies that have made a real difference to their commercial performance.
Last year’s winners came from the retail, service and hospitality sectors illustrating the importance of customer service across all industries. The four winners were Livingroom Estate Agency, Waitrose, Fusion Nightclub and Crowd Media.
Organisations can enter as many categories as they wish and are asked to provide evidence of improvements in business performance they have enjoyed as a direct result of an innovative approach or a revised strategy for customer service delivery.
Julie Todd, Managing Director of event organisers Todd and Associates hopes that there will be even more entries this year:
“Whilst the awards were established to celebrate individuals’ customer service successes, their achievements are often supported by a service culture and ethos from within the organisation for which they work. Our corporate categories are designed to encourage companies to become even more service-driven and to highlight how this can deliver real competitive advantage.”
All entries will be considered by a judging panel made up of a select range of business leaders representing a broad spectrum industry sectors and backgrounds. Member of the panel and Director of Guernsey Chamber of Commerce Barry Cash commented:
“We had some great entries last year from companies of all sizes and types. It’s a tough environment for any business at the moment; putting customer service at the heart of every thing a company does can be the difference between success and failure. Lots of Guernsey businesses do just that and I hope that they take this opportunity to tell us about it.”
Allen Edwards, Guernsey Branch Manager Waitrose – winner of the Award for Customer Commitment in 2012 said:
“We were delighted to win an award last year. Waitrose is extremely focused on customer service and to have this publicly recognised was excellent for both the organisation and for our team. I would certainly encourage organisations to enter.”
